The lighting industry is a vast and rapidly growing industry. It includes all aspects of lighting applications; from aesthetic to saftey; from indoor to outdoor; and from high to low voltage.

while extensive training and licensing exams are required for high voltage lighting applications, there are little or no educational services and/or training programs for low voltage lighting applications. Yet, as the low voltage lighting industry continues to grow, the demand for education and training of proper desing and installation techniques also grows.

Once established, proper education, training and testing programs will help promote saftey and quality control to the end user as well as the contractor and designer.

The LITE Program is one of the only certification programs designed for the low voltage lighting professional. The program gives you the opportunity to learn, test, and be certified in proper installation, design, troubleshooting, and automation.

Another reason to become LITE certified is th epotential for job, homeowner, and architect refferals. Unique Lighting Systems will only be reffering contractors who are LITE certified. If you carry a CLLD or CALLD certification you will have the opportunity to bid on Unique Specification and Design Support Program (SDSP) designed projects. Since fall of 2007 Unique Lighting Systems SDSP program has specified over 100 jobs and over 16,000 light Fixtures! The SDSP Program will only recommend LITE Certified contractors to bid these jobs as of February 2009. As of today (February 2009) there are over 40 jobs in the works that ONLY LITE Certified contractors will have the opportunity to bid.

Grant it some of these jobs were submitted by contractors so of course others will not be able to bid those, we will always protect those jobs for the person who is submitting them. But to get the opportunity to bid on SDSP projects submited by Architects, Designers, and General Contractors you must be LITE Certified!
